If you want the best of the best, Dubai promises to give you just that! The city continues to surprise us year after year with its architectural marvels, from the tallest skyscraper in the world, the Burj Khalifa, to the man-made islands, Palm Jumeirah. A new addition to the list is the world’s tallest Ferris wheel: the Ain Dubai.
Situated at the Bluewaters Island, Ain Dubai stands at a staggering height, at over 250 m; it is much taller than the London Eye (135 m) and the grand wheel in Las Vegas (167 m), guaranteeing a bigger and better experience to its visitors. Visit Ain Dubai and prepare for a captivating 360-degree view of the city’s coastline and skyline.
Standing tall at 250 m, Ain Dubai (or Dubai Ferris Wheel) provides a bird’s eye view of the city's famed skyline; spot the Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa, Palm Islands and the entire stretch of Dubai Marina. The wheel consists of 48 capsules that can accommodate close to 1,900 visitors, while each ride is said to last about 48 minutes. The Ferris wheel also includes a few capsules specifically for dining experiences, along with six other VIP pods that are for hosting events on special occasions. A unique feature of the capsules is that they are temperature-controlled, allowing you to easily accommodate Dubai’s climate.
Over 9000 tonnes of steel, manufactured by Swiss Rides on behalf of the project’s lead contractor, Hyundai, was used to create this incredible masterpiece; comparatively, Ain Dubai has used about 25% more steel than what was used to build the Eiffel Tower! The rim sections, a few of which have been constructed using German and Korean steel, are held in place using cables that measure about 2,400 km in length if stretched out.
What’s more? Not only do guests have the opportunity to experience a beautiful panoramic view from their pod, the Bluewaters Island project will also feature the world’s highest rope climbing platform! The platform is located at a height of 150 m, which can be scaled by thrill-seekers. All climbers will be supervised by experts to ensure maximum safety.
Ain Dubai — the Dubai Ferris Wheel — promises to live up the hype; not only is its design and construction awe-inspiring, but the view from the top is simply spectacular. Prepare to soak in Dubai’s coastline, beautifully wrapped around its towering skyline. Here’s what you’ll get to see while on a ride.
The Burj Khalifa, without a doubt, will be the first skyscraper you witness while you make your way up the giant wheel. Standing tall at 830 m with over 160 floors, the Burj Khalifa arguably defines the city’s skyline. Located right next to the world’s largest mall, the Dubai Mall, the Burj Khalifa is considered to be an essential experience in the city!
The Palm Jumeirah is a rare gem in the city’s landscape. Part of a man-made island chain called the Palm Islands, the Palm Jumeirah is uniquely-shaped like a massive palm tree and is dotted with both commercial and residential spaces. The primary attraction at the Palm Jumeirah is the luxurious Atlantis Hotel, which is also home to a thrilling waterpark, Aquaventure.
Completed in 1999, the Burj Al Arab was one of the first few luxury hotels that helped Dubai establish itself as a key tourist destination. An iconic structure in the city, the Burj Al Arab’s design and construction is inspired by a ship’s sail, easily identifiable from the top; a notable feature is its helipad, that has often doubled up as a space for sporting events.
The Jumeirah Beach Residence, colloquially known as JBR, is a 1.7 km-long waterfront community. This area accommodates about 40 beautifully-designed towers that can accommodate close to 15,000 residents. Moreover, it is dotted with several luxury boutiques, classy cafes and restaurants, and a long stretch of blue ocean, directly in line with Ain Dubai.
Since it is located right near JBR, Ain Dubai can be easily reached by car, metro or bus.
